A Statement about Rachael Rollins

When Rachael had the privilege of leading the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office from 2019 to 2022, it was the most innovative and exceptional prosecutors office in the County.

- Led the Nation by creating the first Discharge Integrity Team (DIT). The DIT investigated officer involved shootings and excessive force allegations and had a community member on the team.

- First Grand Jury up and running in the country during COVID. Written policies and data collection. The Rollins Memo.

- Significant and meaningful community engagement and responsiveness, transparency and access as top priorities.

- All this with a 20 year low in homicides while being smart on crime. That homicide rate continued to decline under her leadership and thankfully remains trending in that direction today.

Rachael could not have done all of this alone. She invited the community to guide her and collaborate by making a seat at the table for us regarding all of her policies, always listening and being open to feedback. But sadly, none of that is happening now.

Today, we do not see written policies. No data collection. Invite-Only, secret meetings about officer involved shootings that happened in our community.

We should not have to endorse the DA, contribute to his campaign, or be required to "know somebody that knows somebody" in order to get information about homicides, crimes and other events impacting our community. The DA's Office is a PUBLIC OFFICE THAT OUR TAX DOLLARS PAY FOR.

We Deserve Better!

Rachael Rollins is running again and bringing with her a wealth of experience, a proven track record, and a renewed commitment to the people of Suffolk County.

The District Attorney’s office serves as the moral backbone of our criminal justice system. We need a leader who is committed to transparency, safety and accountability, with compassion. Rachael understands redemption and knows personally that accountability and healing can work in producing enormous change. She will unapologetically fight for the change we know our system needs.

Rachael is ready to bring a wiser prospective and fresh lens to our most complicated problems—working together with the law enforcement and the community to propose innovative, evidence-based solutions.

Having served as both the top federal prosecutor in our Commonwealth and the District Attorney of the largest city in New England, she is beyond qualified. Rachael has challenged the status quo before, and will do it again. She knows what it takes to drive change from the inside out.

WE HAVE MORE WORK TO DO!

Please join us in supporting Rachael’s candidacy and help us build a system that reflects the rich diversity of the communities the DA's Office is sworn to protect and serve.
